The shares have risen nicely to new highs and are £2 ahead of our write up last November. Abcam’s pre-close update for the year ended 30th June noted another successful year with group revenue expected to have grown 27% on a reported basis or 10% at constant currency. Gross margin is expected to be 70%, in line with expectations.The company, which sells research grade antibodies via an online catalogue to help scientists find cures for cancer and other life threatening diseases, noted that its catalogue revenues grew over 11% with RabMab (rabbit antibodies) up 25%.These figures were slightly ahead of broker Numis’ forecasts and it has upgraded eps by 3% to 25.4p with 31p expected in the year to next June. ...
