After the Brexit vote many investors feared a cliff edge fall in demand for new home purchases with a corresponding knock on for suppliers such as Ibstock, the UK’s largest manufacturer of clay bricks. But happily it hasn’t turned out that bad with Ibstock reporting a 9% rise in revenues to £228m and a 3% increase in pretax profit to £38.9m for the six months ended 30 June. Adjusted eps increased 16% to 9.5p.Ibstock owns 19 manufacturing plants and 23 active quarries in the UK (81% group revenue) and these generated an 8% rise in sales to £186m, put solely down to volume growth, while EBITDA rose 7.5% to £57m, with margins maintained.Some might quibble that Ibstock underperformed sector vol ...
