It’s a mystery to us why shares in Supergroup have spent the last three and a bit years consolidating when operationally it’s been all systems go, but a recent intra-day move above £16 suggests the technical overhang may soon be over. The company, which sells T-shirts, hooded tops and jackets, sporting a novel mix of American fabrics fused with Japanese styles, quite simply looks mis-priced given not only its fabulous track record in which pretax profit has soared 15-fold to £87m in the nine years to April 2017, but the promise of much more to come.
