Having touched a high of 139p in June, making for a gain to high of 52% for TMI, the shares have disappointingly slipped back despite decent looking interims, with a 20% rise in adjusted operating profit to £21m on sales unchanged at £75.8m. Eps rose almost 19% to 3.8p. A key driver was a massive increase in marketing margin from 39.6% to 46.4%, reflecting a smarter approach to marketing spend. It ran its first large scale print advertising campaign with the Sun newspaper, plus an out of town campaign across the Transport for London network.
