Self storage is one of the few sectors to be spared a hammering by investors as demand continues to hold up following the Pandemic boom in home moving, while new supply is constrained by the UK’s tough planning rules.In an update for the period ending 31 July, Lok ‘n Store said self storage revenues have risen 17.3%. Q4 saw Lok let out another 55,479 sq ft. (FY’21, Q4: 58,125 sq. f.) and while occupancy is down from 85.8% to 80.3%, that largely reflected the addition of more space from newly opened stores and the sale and manage back of four older stores in January 2022.
