Results from cake maker Inter Link Foods for the year to 30 April were in line with its revised guidance with pretax profit rising 21% to £7.1m, turnover increasing 33% to £130m and earnings before exceptionals increasing 9% to 44.1p. Gross margins fell by 1.9% in the year, including a whopping 3.9% drop to 34.1% in H2 mainly because its larger rival, the RHM owned Manor Bakeries, ran an aggressive price promotion for its market leading product, Mr. Kipling.
