Shares in Metal-Tech, the recycler of specialty metals, fell sharply after it revealed that its Uzbekistan subsidiary, Uzmetal, is encountering significant disruption of its supply of molybdenum raw material due to mineralogical problems of a government owned mine and a contractual dispute with its molybdenum supplier. While the company expects to resolve the dispute, it admits the disruption is likely to go on for an extended period and therefore cause a 10-15% drop in profit and sales for 2006.
