The irony of the recent floods in some parts of the country is that they have played right into the hands of Domino’s Pizza, the master franchisee in the UK and Ireland of the world’s leading pizza delivery brand. Not that Domino’s needs divine intervention, in fact quite the opposite. The company, which has a happy knack of doing the simple things well, such as milking its strong name recognition and backing this up with keen customer service, has expanded so successfully that the competition have paled in comparison. And most importantly, its shareholders have received full bang for their buck with pretax profit increasing almost eight-fold in the past seven years.
