Shares in escrow solutions provider NCC soared to a new high of 409p in reaction to results, which were at the top end of forecasts. For the year to 31 May, pretax profit rose 18% to £7.8m on turnover which increased 22% to £25.4m. Earnings rose 23% to 16.8p. In spite of spending £3.3m on acquisitions, the company’s cash balances only fell from £1.2m to £0.9m. The core UK escrow solutions side, which holds critical software code for a client and will release it if the software developer goes bust, saw 22% growth in sales to £15m with operating profit rising 21% to £8.2m.
