Tarsus - Business events showing resilience

Results from business events organiser Tarsus emphatically demonstrate its resilience in the face of the slackening economy. In the seasonally quieter first half to 30 June it reported a 28% increase in turnover to Â£14.3m, with like-for-like revenues also ahead by 12%. Meanwhile, underlying pretax profit rose 33% to Â£1.6m, while adjusted eps were 0.8p. Importantly, forward bookings remain strong and mean that 78% of this year's budgeted forecasts are now contracted. In the US revenue increased 7% to Â£4.1m, with profit up by Â£0.1m to Â£1.3m.
