Telecity (FT sector: Tech - Software & Services), which provides a network of data centres across Europe, is a true survivor of the dot com and technology boom and bust. Founded in 1998, it first went public in 2000 with a market cap. of £550m and a stratospheric price to sales ratio as investors warmed to its rolling out of these data centres whose uses range from business continuity to facilitating faster access to clients' web sites.
