Hornby, a grand old name in the world of model railways, may not seem an obvious growth share investment but the company has three other top hobbyist brands including Airfix and Scalextric and the shares were an unlikely member of the ten-bagger club in the early  part of this decade when they went from a low of 32p to a high of 307p between 2000 and 2007. During this time,  chief executive Frank Martin acquired new products and expanded Hornby into new markets overseas.
