Shares in ITE, a FTSE-250 international exhibitions organiser, have had more than their fair share of ups and downs, largely reflecting the fact that its fortunes are inextricably linked with the oil-dependent Russian economy, which contributes over 75% of its profits. After falling to a low point of 15p in the aftermath of Russia's huge debt default, the shares then roared to 195p in May 2007 before plunging again as the global credit crunch took hold. However, with rising energy prices kick-starting an increase in business activity and economists upgrading Russian GDP estimates, ITE is poised to return to a period of vintage earnings growth.
