Old-timers may recall Burren Energy, an oil & gas exploration & production firm, whose shares soared from our original recommendation price of 181p in March 2004 to eventually be bought out by ENI for 1300p-a-share, valuing Burren at a mighty £1.72bn. Although we didn't quite catch the top we did recommend taking part profits as high as 899p in May '06 before the shares were eventually stop-lossed out of our trader portfolio at 725p the following March.
