Shares in Tarsus inched to a (temporary) new high of 168p ahead of interims, which confirmed that its improved trading has continued. In the seasonally weaker first half revenues rose 14% (7% like-for-like) to £19.2m while adjusted pretax profit was £0.6m (H1 2010: £1.1m). Net debt encouragingly fell 46% to £17.3m, boosted by advance payments ahead of its key second half events. Breaking things down by region the US, which includes its Off Price (discount clothing) and medical events, performed well as did its emerging markets side, which was boosted by the recent acquisition of IFO in Turkey in June.
