Since our last update the shares have zoomed up from 360.5p to 392p, helped by a statement that  noted that trading for the year to 30 June has been slightly ahead of expectations.Abcam's core business, which sells research grade anti-bodies via its website, continues to grow strongly with its online catalogue expanding 25% to 92,456 products.Despite continued pressures on central Government research budgets, not helped by the distraction of the US election in November, Abcam reported revenue growth of 17%, or 11.5% on an underlying basis. Net cash was £17m. Numis has tweaked 2012 pretax profit forecasts up £1m to £38.8m (eps: 15.4p) with current year unchanged at £43.2m (16.1p). ...
