Business publications and events group Informa’s interims showed adjusted pretax profits rising just 1% to £160.1m on revenues, which fell 2% to £620m. Eps rose 3% to 18.3p. In what are still difficult trading conditions the highlight was its academic division (Taylor & Francis, CRC Press and Routledge), which grew revenues 6.1% and profits 9% to £51.2m. Operating margins rose from 32.4% to 33.3% and encouragingly, journal subscription rates remain in line with historic levels. In  professional & commercial information, serving the business, financial and telecoms sectors, revenues fell 5% and profits went down 2.7% to £54m.
