This year's acquisitions of Life Media and GZ Auto, taking Tarsus' emerging market revenues to 43% of the total by 2013, have belatedly woken up the shares, which have rushed to a three-year high of 181.75p. Keeping up the momentum were strong interims, which showed pretax profit up three-fold to £1.8m. The engine room was the emerging markets division where turnover rose 28% to £7.3m and profit tripled to £1.5m. Highlights included 39% sales growth from Hope, the Chinese joint venture, while the acquisition of 50% of GZ Auto, a leading automotive aftermarket exhibition, which should complete in a few months, will strengthen Chinese exposure further.
