The shares ploughed to a new high of 250p after business events organiser, Tarsus issued good results in its quieter first half. On turnover, which rose 35% to £26m, pretax profit more than doubled from £1.8m to £3.9m, while eps jumped 260% to 2.6p. In spite of spending £18.6m on acquisitions net debt only increased from £19.6m to £29.2m. Emerging markets sparkled with pretax profit increasing from £1.5m to £3.3m and the event portfolio enjoyed a 13% jump in like-for-like sales.
