Big Yellow quietly delivered further progress, with its update for the three months to 30 June showing store revenues up 11% to £18.6m year-on-year. Occupancy within its 32 wholly owned stores rose 49,000 sq. ft. to 1,501,000, with utilisation rising from 75.2% to 77.8%. Within the 23 less mature lease up stores, including the recently owned Gypsy Corner site, occupancy rose by 76,000 sq. ft. to 1,012,000, with utilisation rising from 60% to 64.8%. Net rent rose 0.8% to £26.37. Big Yellow has also started building a new 60,000 sq. ft. store in Enfield, North London, which will open in April 2015.
