Supergroup - Wholesale order book up 26%

Supergroup delivered strong finals with underlying sales, pretax profit and eps rising 20%, 19% and 21% respectively to £431m, £62m and 58p. This was largely powered by a 1.4% increase in gross margin to 59.7%, reflecting higher international mix, scale benefits and less clearance activity. Net cash rose 58% to £86.2m. Its retail division, which trades through the Superdry brand, increased turnover 18% to £286m, driven by 3.2% jump in like-for-like sales (even after a poor Q4) and the addition of 100,000 sq. ft. in trading space taking the total to 633,000 sq. ft. through 139 owned stores (2013: 128 stores).
