Greene King’s final results showed pretax profit and eps increasing 5% and 7.1% to £167m and 60.4p, respectively.The managed pubs side is the growth engine and has grown by 172 sites to 1,060 outlets since 2010 with the return on investment being 15.1%, well ahead of cost of capital. However, last year it only increased operating profit 2% to £191m with management blaming an early World Cup exit and new drink driving legislation in Scotland.Its tenanted pubs side saw its profits decline by 17% to £54m but that largely reflected a 27% reduction in pub numbers to 881 following disposals.
