Shares in business events group, Tarsus, have been unaffected by Brexit turbulence, rising to a new high of 275p as half year results impressed. Sales rose 44% to £27m over the same period in 2014 (remember “even” years don’t include its two largest biennial events Labelexpo Europe and Dubai Airshow). Pretax profit and eps both rose 29% to £4m and 2.8p respectively.Investors are warming to Tarsus because 90% of sales are in emerging markets and USA, therefore there’s no Brexit fall-out while weaker sterling vs US$ provides a translational boost to profits.In emerging markets, sales increased from £11.1m to £14m with profits rising from £2.9m to £3.8m.
