The shares rocketed nearly £2 to 812p after Just East unveiled it had received a bid approach from rival Takeaway.com. The terms are an all share combination with Just Eat shareholders to receive 0.09744 Takeaway.com shares for each Just Eat share.This has come at a difficult time for Just Eat, with its half year results showing revenues up 30% to £464m with underlying EBITDA (excluding Mexico) down 16% to £72.4m driven by accelerated investment.The issue according to Jefferies is that Q2 was slightly below expectations (when the weather warms people are more inclined to have a BBQ rather than order a take-away).
