Smart Metering Systems, the installer and manager of smart meters, provided a strong trading update, with the highlight that annualised recurring revenue increased 14.1% to £85.9m for the six months ended 30 June. That was ahead of expectations. The break down was £19.6m from its traditional domestic sector, £21m from industrial & commercial customers and £32.4m from data assets.Overall, it has installed 156,000 domestic smart meters, taking the total number to over one million in June ‘19.
