Following my well-timed front-page write-up in April the shares have gone into orbit, hitting an all-time high of 752p in reaction to its record acquisition and now a positive AGM update, with trading in line with recently upgraded expectations. The Consumer business has continued its trajectory of impressive performance, supported by a number of best-sellers and management highlight a number of potential best-sellers to come over the summer including Sally Smith’s A Case of Mice and Murder, Josephine Quinn’s How the World Made the West, a Financial Times pick for Best History Book of 2024, and Mayowa and the Sea of Words by Chibundu Onuzo.
